ドアに鍵をかけたのは確かだ（と私は確信している）。
② It is certain to rain tomorrow.
明日はきっと雨が降る。
④ I agree with you to a certain extent.
ある程度はあなたに賛成です。
④は「はっきりわかっているがあえて名前を出さない」ときの「ある」です（a certain person「ある人」）。副詞 certainly は「確かに；（返事で）もちろん」です。
誤訳に注意
He is certain to win.「彼はきっと勝つ」（確信しているのは話し手）
He is certain that he will win.「彼は勝つと確信している」（確信しているのは彼）

be certain to do は「話し手がそう確信している」という意味なので，It is certain that he will win. とほぼ同じです。sure も同じ区別があります。なお，sure と違い certain は It is certain that … の形もとれますが，× It is certain for him to win. とは言いません。
